A career on both sides
of the relationship.

My background spans corporate banking, credit, investment banking, private equity and corporate treasury. Across those roles, the recurring work has been to understand the financial problem, evaluate the options and help people move toward a workable decision.

Before moving into corporate treasury, I served as a senior vice president in treasury management and payment solutions at large national financial institutions. My clients ranged from small businesses to large public and international companies across real estate, manufacturing, service industries, financial services and fintech, as well as governments and not-for-profit organizations. In corporate treasury, I added direct responsibility for leading bank selection and transitions, treasury technology implementation, and payments modernization inside a complex organization.

That combination matters. I can examine a provider’s proposal through the lens of banking economics, then work with the client’s teams on the operational details required to make it useful.

The strongest decisions come from understanding both the proposal across the table and the work ahead for your team.
What guides my work

Understand before recommending.

Listen to leadership and the people doing the work. Validate the process before selecting a product or designing a change.

Make tradeoffs explicit.

Price, yield, risk, service and implementation effort rarely point in exactly the same direction. Make the decision understandable.

Build with the team.

Clear responsibilities and practical handoffs help the client sustain the work. The process should make sense to the people who will own it.

Beyond treasury

Helping people see
what is possible.

Good treasury solutions depend on the people who use them. I listen to employees, explain the thinking behind decisions, and provide practical training and support so they understand the tools, feel confident in their work and can take ownership of the process.

Mentoring is part of that commitment. I want the people I work with to recognize their strengths, grow their skills and see what is possible for themselves and their organizations.

“Cynthia is THE person you want to have coaching you as you start your career. She has the ‘take under your wings’ approach to mentoring. Works hard and explaining the context and not just the answer. Has such a gentle spirit and makes time even though clearly quite busy herself. I have nothing but good things to say about Cynthia’s role during my time working with her.”— Sumeet Gulati · CEO, DataHub.Insure
